[JSS-Announce] list policy

jss-announce is a moderated list. To defer the costs of producing the
journal
I have decided to let through, on a case by case basis, emails by the
major
publishers in which they announce special discounts on their
statistics list,
new publications, etc. I don't expect this to happen often, only a few
times
per year. The publishers are expected, again on a case-by-case basis, to
make a tax-deductible donation to UCLA Statistics, which we will use
towards
the costs of publishing and maintaining the journal (currently about $
25K
per year in staff, computing support, and development time, not
counting
any of the volunteer hours). I will moderate the posts and make sure
they
are pertinent to statistical software and computation.

Note that I am not selling the subscriber list, which remains
inaccessible,
even to subscribers.

Of course if you don't agree with the policy you can unsubscribe at
